Children aged 9 months and up may now be eligible for up to 30 hours of funded childcare — a significant expansion from the previous one-year entitlement.
But many parents miss out on this support due to how their income is structured. With some smart planning — particularly around pension contributions — you may be able to access thousands of pounds in additional savings each year.
This session is a calm, expert space to walk through the numbers, explore different options, and help you feel clear and confident about the choices in front of you.
“I honestly can’t thank you enough for helping me work through the numbers. The anxiety was just building, and now I feel so much lighter at the end of this session.”Recent Client
What this session can cover
Every family's situation is different, so we'll tailor the session to what's most relevant for you. Depending on your circumstances, we might explore:
- Calculating your adjusted net income for childcare eligibility
- Finding the sweet spot for pension contributions
- Understanding how your pension scheme affects eligibility
- Comparing work scenarios (e.g. 4 vs. 5 days)
- Reviewing nursery costs with and without funded hours
- Understanding the trade-offs between short-term income and long-term support
- Whether your current setup is actually affordable for your family and lifestyle
“I went in feeling really unsure about whether going back to work would even be financially worthwhile. Philly broke everything down, the 100k threshold, the childcare funding, what options are available. I came away with the right knowledge to plan and it felt like a huge weight off my mind. I finally understand the numbers and what we need to do.”Recent Client
The session process
Pre-Session
You’ll receive a spreadsheet to complete in advance.
Please also tell me what type of pension scheme you have (e.g. salary sacrifice, relief at source, net pay) this affects how we calculate your Net Adjusted Income and what options are available to you.
Live Call (30 minutes)
A focused 1:1 session to analyse your situation and run through personalised scenarios.
Clarity & guidance
I’ll explain your options clearly and help you make informed, intentional decisions.
Follow-Up
You’ll leave with a clear set of action steps tailored to your family’s needs.
A note on eligibility
Both parents must have adjusted net income below £100,000 to qualify for most government childcare schemes.
If one partner earns significantly more than this (e.g. £150k+), this session may not be the right fit.
Important disclaimer
This session offers financial education and strategic guidance not regulated financial advice. I’ll help you understand your options so you can make confident, informed decisions.
“I’d called HMRC three times and couldn’t get a straight answer. Philly went through everything line by line and explained how I was still entitled to the hours, which was a huge relief when the difference in cost is over £900 more. I now understand how it works, and I know exactly what to do next year when things get more complicated. I feel so much more confident going into maternity leave.”Recent Client
Availability
Sessions are typically held on Mondays, with a 2-day minimum notice to allow for pre-work.
If you don’t see a time that suits, please get in touch — I may be able to offer a one-off slot elsewhere.
